Since the age of 14, I have been honing my listening skills, as a conductor. While on stage, I am completely silent and don’t make any noise. My job is to inspire, set a forward course, and adjust to ensure the performance is flawless.
I didn’t fully appreciate how this skill would transfer to life and business and how much I would use it to be successful.
Here are the most important elements that I implement:
1 – Listening. I use this skill as a coach to elicit feedback from clients and colleagues. I act as the company connection which enables me to enroll stakeholders. My overall effectiveness comes from listening intently.
2 – Conducting. I conduct a group to implement new tools, technologies, and tactics to meet business goals. This skill has helped me grow businesses and market share with practical applications, and outstanding results.
3 – Orchestration. The skills of leading and collaborating have helped me work effectively with all levels in an organization from staff to stakeholders. The results I have achieved are high adoption rates which has led to a significant increase in sales and profitability.
I infuse listening, creativity, and leadership into business development along with curiosity and care for those I serve.
I have learned to incorporate a strong positive mindset of proactively, contributing to the community, and building meaningful relationships. I have served as a pivotal component in changing the human initiative in all of my roles.
I continue to pursue my passions in music, in my role as Artistic Director Music Producer for John Cameron Entertainment, an elite group of professional musicians. We make a difference through music by raising awareness for women’s health, mental illness, and children’s foundations and raising millions of dollars for these vital initiatives. I didn’t fully appreciate how this skill would transfer to life and business and how much I would use it to be successful.
